After spending years raising hell as a best-selling author, publisher and media whore – and winning Publishing Innovation and content design awards in the process – Stuart set up Mojo Risin’ in 2015.
He’s got a good nose for sniffing out a story and a knack for cajoling reticent outré types into telling them.
Whether hanging out with Kray associates, cage fighting, running across America or infiltrating the mob, he’s notorious for his method approach and dedication to story-telling.
Any spare time is spent going on mad adventures with his daughter and crazy capers with his trophy girlfriend.
In amongst all that malarkey, he enjoys Mike Leigh and Marky Mark films and reading Irvine Welsh, Iain Banks, John Niven, Chuck Palahniuk and Alphonse Allais.
Steve is in his 40s and still doesn’t know what he wants to be when he grows up.
He has been a sub-postmaster, a head doorman on some of the toughest nightclubs on Tyneside, worked for the infamous Kray twins when they were incarcerated, trained to become a professional actor starring on stage and screen, was part of the football fanzine revolution in the 90s… oh and he’s written and produced some canny books along the way.
In his spare time he follows Newcastle United and Dunston UTS Football Clubs, likes to read books and watch documentaries on crime and he is a devoted Freemason.
He’s got more contacts than a call centre, is our author liaison extraordinaire and is an ideas man with a publicity plan.
